• Founder's Story

My name is Qas, and this is the story of how I stumbled into the balloon business.

When I was pregnant back in 2023, I had trouble sleeping so my night became my day. And to pass the time, I tend to watch paranormal/night walk and balloon twisting live streams. I didn't think much of it because I mostly put it on as a background noise while working. As this is my first pregnancy, I read up quite a bit and got scared by the possibility of postpartum depression. And it said that one of the ways to navigate through postpartum is to shift your focus onto something else. So I got my modelling balloons ready for motherhood.

Then I became a mum in 2024. After my baby's belly is full, I laid her down, sat on my bed and pulled up my phone. This is when it all started. As I pumped my milk, I pumped my balloons and followed the tutorials. Sometimes I made something, sometimes I made a mess. And those times I did make something successfully, I remember the joy I felt as I took photos of them and send them to my husband. But I had to return to corporate so unfortunately, the balloon twisting took a back seat. I still practiced from time to time and I was getting pretty good at it albeit slow.

Now this is when it accelerated into Balun. I performed my umrah in January 2026 and it was life-changing for me. I'm now seeing and navigating life through a new lens. I've always wanted to build a sustainable business and I'm more determined than ever to put in the effort to get there. Hopefully, along the way, I can be useful to society and give back to the community.
